Senator Stephen J. Buoniconti was voted to represent the Hampden District in
November of 2004. He was sworn into office in January 2005. He was reelected in 2006. The Hampden Senate
District includes Agawam, Chicopee, Springfield, West Springfield.
He
is a graduate of West Springfield High School, Fairfield University,
and Western New England College School of Law.
He presently serves as chairman of the Joint Committee on Financial Services,
and is a member of the Joint Committee on Public Health, Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business, the Joint Committee on Revenue and the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development.
Stephen Buoniconti served as State Representative from the Sixth Hampden
District for four years. He was first elected to that office in November
of 2000. Before that, Buoniconti served as an Assistant District Attorney
in Hampden County. He also served his home town, West Springfield, as
a town meeting member, recreation commissioner, and school committee
member.
